GLORIA TORRES
Director

Gloria is the Director of Sacramento Montessori School and is a long time Sacramento Early Childhood educator. Prior to joining Sacramento Montessori, Gloria directed the La Petite Academy in Citrus Heights for 15 years.

She has been directing children’s educational programs for over 25 years, with an emphasis on cultural awareness. She possesses a degree in Early Childhood Education. Gloria is well known in the community for her outstanding volunteer services and leadership roles in non-profit organizations, Festival de La Familia, The Boys and Girls Club of Sacramento, American GI Forum, and the Leukemia Society.

The need to help others is what has fed her determination in her fight against the Leukemia (CML) that she was diagnosed with seven years ago. She believes that being spiritually enriched by her Grandmother, loved ones, cultural, and support groups has helped her through the dark nights and has allowed her to flourish in her healing. Being spiritually in touch forms the core of her energy which keeps her helping and teaching others and healing through her giving activities. It is for this reason that Gloria’s involvement with The Cup With Love Project is so important. Her giving fuels her love for life, giving her resiliency for her cancer journey.
